Miriam Draner Solovy was born January 27, 2256 in Ithica, Earth, into a family with a multi-generational military tradition. She met David Solovy during a military incident on Perona in 2282, and they married two years later. David Solovy was killed in the line of duty during the Kappa Crucis Batle of the Crux War in 2299.

At the start of STARSHINE, Miriam is the Operations Director at Earth Alliance Strategic Command, with the rank of Admiral.
